The Ferry Building: Mini Foodie Hunt

Where can you taste free samples of delicious San Francisco foods? Do not skip a visit to San Francisco's Ferry building located at the foot of Market Street along the bay. A fun way to get there? Take the cable car from Van Ness and California, all the way down the hill to the bottom. Even better, come by ferry. If possible, visit on a Saturday morning for the farmers market and start off with tastes of juicy local fruits. If you cannot make it on Saturday, any day is fine. The Ferry Building is a gourmet food hall filled with all sorts of artisan foods. Check out the bakeries, candy shops, cheese shops, meat shops and more. A perfect place for lunch and dessert. Also don't forget the history. The Ferry Building was built in 1898 and at that time was one of the busiest terminals in the world. The clock tower in the center is modeled after tower in Seville, Spain.
